Welcome to the Braintree Business Improvement District website

Braintree BID has embarked on its pilot year. Fully funded by Braintree District Council the BID team will complete ten projects all with the aim of improving the trading environment for the town’s businesses. This ‘try before you buy’ approach will enable business owners to see the positive impact of a BID first hand before the all important ballot in September 2012.

Running in tandem will be the preparations for our final programme which will run for a five year duration from October 2012. There is an opportunity NOW for all businesses to have their say, contribute and to get involved in the nitty gritty of the plan and make it something that people feel is valuable to Braintree and to their business too.

Mary Portas recently published her findings in a full review of the future of our high streets, and the Queen of Shops is right behind BIDs believing they offer a credible and realistic solution for our town centres. It’s time to work together for the successful future of our town centre.
